A Blue Whale's Blowhole
What does a blue whale's blowhole look like? Well, it looks like a giant nose of an animal. You might've thought it was only one hole on the back, but that isn't the case.
Unlike fish, whales don't have gills, so they can't breathe underwater. The blowhole on top of their head acts as a nostril. They swim, come up for air, and breathe through the blowhole. Most of us aren't lucky enough to get up close to see it!
Under A Battleship With No Water
You've probably seen plenty of battleships in movies, TV shows, and up close in person, but never outside of water, have you? Did you know it looked like this underneath?
These armored ships were much different than any cruise ship you've been on. Battleships were armed to protect from the sea. The U.S. Navy stopped using battleships in 2004, replacing them with aircraft carriers and large submarines to get the job done.

Here's a rarely-seen angle of a space shuttle launching into orbit. From this perspective, you can see how incredibly small the shuttle looks against the sky and space beyond it. Standing next to the space shuttle on the ground, you can see that it's not small by any means!
Once the space shuttle sets into orbit it travels at an incredible rate of 17,500 miles per hour. Incredibly, every 45 minutes the space ship crew is able to see a new sunrise or sunset.

If you entered a plane and there were no seats, this is what it would look like. We're used to seeing all of the seats and passengers filling up the space, but nobody's used to seeing it like this.
From this perspective, the seat-less Boeing looks more like a space travel film set. Maybe this will make you feel like flying is a little more exciting the next time that you step aboard an aircraft!

Watching from your TV at home, we see reported as poised and well-kept. There's a chance that you'll see a tiny mic clipped to their blouse, but other than that, recording devices are completely discreet.
Taking a look from behind, you can see what it really looks like to be mic-ed up. Wow! That's a lot of wiring! Can you imagine having to work this into every outfit that you wore?

Thanks to birth defects, some five-pointed starfish can come out as a square. It's like if SpongeBob and Patrick fused together! What a crazy find to come across.
If you didn't see the starfish on the right, you might not even have believed that this was a starfish... or a square-fish in this case. This photo goes to show that nature is full of surprises if you're looking in the right places.

Pearls are excellent accessory pieces. Who knew the insides looked like the stumps of trees when you cut them down? Most people would never think to cut a pearl in half, finding it beautiful the way it comes in its natural form, but there is even more beauty inside.

The power of tanning is that it cooks or paints your skin and gives you that glow, but you can't forget to leave some body parts uncovered. Her face is about eight shades darker than her arm. You don't usually see that.
For that matter, her hair is also dyed a much lighter shade than her hair's roots, so there's a lot of bleaching and coloration going on here. it makes the whites of her eyes and teeth stand out even more.

Located in Pisa, Italy, the Leaning Tower Of Pisa is a global landmark. However, have you ever thought about the inside? It looks like the interior would be divided into small rooms or a large open entertaining space for the ages.
Standing at more than 183 feet tall on the low side, and around 3 feet taller on the high side, the tower has a staircase around the perimeter and a hollow interior.

After The Tour De France
The Tour de France isn't an easy athletic event by any stretch of the imagination. You're riding a bike for an insane number of miles at high speeds. No wonder Polish cyclist Pawel Poljanski's legs look like this! In 2020, he finished in 67th place.
In 2017, the Tour spanned 2,200 miles. However, back in 1926, the race went the longest route in the Tour's history, covering an incredible 3,570 miles.
Freshly Cut Cinnamon
Freshly cut cinnamon looks like regular bark from a tree. Who knew this thing would turn into such a sweet and tasty spice? You also can get the tiny sticks from this.
Cinnamon comes from several different types of trees, with one of them being called the most "true"-- Cinnamomum verum. As of 2016, Indonesia and China combined produced 75% of the world's supply of cinnamon. However, the aromatic spice dates back to as early as 2000 BC, in Egypt.

Who knew the back of a bowling alley looked so much like a laundromat? A technician took this picture, but he should have explained why the balls get stuck so often.
The first indoor bowling alley opened in New York City in 1840. Back then, the lanes were made of clay instead of wood. During those times, bowling was heavily associated with gambling, and so bowling alleys became tightly regulated by the U.S. government.
The Ball Inside Of A Spray Paint
You know that sounds that a can of spray paint makes when you shake it? Well that's due to this ball! Canned spray paint was first invented in 1949 by Edward Seymour, In Sycamore, Illinois.
It was Edward's wife who suggested that he put a type of paint that he created into a spray can. The cans come with this ball, made of metal, marble, glass, or plastic, depending on the brand. This ball mixes the paint when you shake the can.
